AI lead qualification in Singapore
AI lead qualification uses a voice agent to ask a few structured questions before a salesperson gets involved, so your team spends its time on the enquiries worth having. It is the use case with the highest upside and the most dangerous failure mode.
The danger is straightforward. A qualification agent does not just sort your leads, it decides which ones a human ever speaks to. Tuned badly, it quietly discards business and you never find out.
We are not a vendor. ColdCalling.sg does not sell AI lead qualification. We compare what is available in Singapore and introduce you to the provider that fits, at no cost to you.
What actually happens
The version without the sales gloss.
An enquiry arrives
From a form, a portal, a campaign or an inbound call.
The agent calls quickly
Speed matters more than almost anything else here.
It asks three or four qualifying questions
Budget, timing, decision role, or whatever actually predicts a sale for you.
It scores or tags the lead
Against rules you set, not rules the vendor set.
Your team gets the qualified ones
With the answers attached, so the first human conversation starts further along.
Best fit
- You get more enquiries than your team can properly follow up.
- You know which two or three answers predict a sale.
- Speed to first contact matters in your market.
- You are willing to review the rules monthly rather than set and forget.
Not ideal for
- Your lead volume is low enough to qualify by hand. Do that.
- You cannot articulate what makes a lead good.
- Your qualification genuinely requires judgement or rapport.
- Nobody will audit what the agent is discarding.
Who uses this in Singapore. Most commonly real estate agencies filtering portal leads, renovation firms qualifying quote requests, and recruiters screening candidates. Each of those pages covers the volume metric, compliance layer and realistic expectations for that sector.
The script matters more than the platform
Qualification scripts are where leading questions matter most. Ask one thing at a time, in a form the agent can act on, and never ask a question whose answer will not change what happens next. Every extra question costs money and loses people.
Ask any provider whether they have written scripts for your industry, and ask to see one with the client name removed. Why the script decides the outcome.
What to test on your live call
Have the provider call your own mobile, over a mobile network. For this use case, watch for:
- Give a borderline answer and see how it classifies you.
- Refuse to answer one question and see whether it abandons or continues.
- Check the transcript against the tag it applied.
What drives the cost
Calls are short, so per-conversation cost is low. The real economics are in what it saves your team, and in what it costs you when it wrongly discards a good lead. Review that monthly. You can work out what AI calling would cost at your volumes.
Compliance
If you are calling someone who submitted an enquiry to you, they have generally given clear and unambiguous consent for that purpose. Calling a purchased list to qualify it is cold calling and needs screening. Read what the PDPA and Do Not Call rules require.
Two limits to settle before the first dial. A lead who answers in a language your agent was not set up for cannot be re-routed mid-call, so segment the list by language before you dial rather than after. And with no live transfer, a lead who qualifies strongly cannot be passed straight to a closer, so the value of the whole exercise depends on how quickly your team works the qualified queue.
Common questions
Will it discard good leads?
How many questions should it ask?
How fast should it call?
Can it use my existing scoring rules?
